BARUCH HALPERN
Mr. Halpern is the principal of Halpern Capital (HC), a d.b.a. entity of UVEST Investment Services. For over 20 years, Mr. Halpern has been involved in equity research, as well as financings and other banking activities such as management restructurings, private placements, and leveraged buyouts. In 1999, HC was instrumental in the closing of a $290 million LBO, and in 2000, HC handled equity private placements (PIPEs) in excess of $120 million. Prior to HC, Mr. Halpern founded The Home Closing Network Inc., the first corporate professional real estate closing company in New York, serving as agents for Prudential, Loan America, Empire and numerous other major financial institutions. He was also Executive Officer of Halpern Capital Management, an investment advisory firm focusing on undervalued companies that were considered attractive as leverage buyout candidates. Mr. Halpern was directly responsible for the leverage buyout of Best Products Co. for $685 million, in which the investors realized a return of 162% in less than one year.
From 1980 to 1985, Mr. Halpern was a Vice President at Fred Alger & Co., a registered investment advisory firm. He became a Group Research Leader in 1983, managing a one billion dollar portfolio consisting of over 600 companies in a broad range of industries. He participated in the roundtable discussion in The Wall Street Transcript and was quoted several times in “Heard on the Street” in The Wall Street Journal.
Prior to his work with Fred Alger & Co., Mr. Halpern was manager of Benefit Finance at Celanese Corporation. He was responsible for the company’s employee benefit programs, managing the $300 million in assets of the company’s pension and profit sharing plans. He also held numerous other financial positions at the Celanese Chemical Division ($500 million in sales at the time), including Manager of General Accounting, Manager of the Credit and Trading Department, and Financial Analyst responsible for budgets, long-range planning, profitability analysis and capital projects. Mr. Halpern received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Brooklyn College and his Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Baruch College.

ANDREW G. HAUPTMAN
Andrew Hauptman is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Andell Limited, a London based private investment company that he controls along with his wife, Ellen Bronfman. Andell invests primarily in the media, communications, leisure and wellness sectors in North America and Europe with offices in London and Montreal. Mr. Hauptman is also co-owner of Andell Entertainment, the film production arm of the company.
Mr. Hauptman serves as a member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of Koor Industries Ltd., an NYSE Israeli-based industrial holding company focused on telecommunications equipment, defense electronics and other hi-tech businesses. Additionally, Mr. Hauptman serves as Chairman of Mission Pictures, which operates under the Andell Entertainment umbrella.
Mr. Hauptman is a graduate of Yale University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Early in his career, Mr. Hauptman was a mergers & acquisitions associate with Alex. Brown & Sons in New York. Later, he worked for MCA / Universal Studios and was involved in overseeing the company’s international businesses from London, with a primary focus on the music and filmed entertainment areas. Additionally, Mr. Hauptman has served as a producer on a number of feature film projects.
Assets within the Andell portfolio include Vivendi Universal, Koor Industries Ltd., Grand Expeditions, Elizabeth Arden Red Door Day Spa, Stake Technology Ltd., Mission Pictures and NewRoads, among other direct investments and private equity funds. Andell Ltd. is affiliated with the Claridge Group, a Montreal based family enterprise that represents the business and philanthropic interests of the Charles R. Bronfman family.
In his free time, Mr. Hauptman is an avid tennis player and collector of music. He has extensive travel and cross-cultural experience, having previously done volunteer work in Africa and Latin America, as well as independent travel across Asia and North America.
ALISA ANNE JONES
Alisa Anne Jones is a Principal of Strategic Philanthropy, which provides
capital formation, partnership development and turnaround
consulting to not-for-profits, foundations, and socially
conscious for-profit ventures. Ms. Jones has served as
an advisor to the Francine and Sterling Clark Art Institute,
Prentiss Smith & Company, Mindbranch and the investment
bank Dresdner, Klienwort, Wasserstein. In the years prior
to launching Strategic Philanthropy, Ms. Jones served
as a Managing Consultant at IXL/Scient, a multinational
technology integration firm where she led a group responsible
for approximately $8 million in annual revenues, working
with clients such as General Electric, Chase Manhattan,
Sotheby's and Tommy Hilfiger. Prior to that Ms. Jones
worked with Deloitte & Touche, Pharmacia and Banque Populaire
on European Union transition via MTC, a Paris-based human
capital consulting group.
Ms. Jones graduated with a B.A. in Theater and Film
from the University of California in 1992 and was a
recipient of the MacArthur undergraduate scholarship,
the Forbes Memorial Scholarship and the Helene Macon
Boggs scholarship. Jones was also a visiting student
at Exeter University's school of drama in the UK and
served as a director of WET: the Women's Ensemble Theater
in Santa Cruz, California. Ms. Jones holds a Masters
in Film Studies from New York University where she focused
on issues of technology, representation, community and
critical theory. While at NYU, Jones was elected faculty
representative and received the Dean's award for distinguished
academic service.
More recently, Ms. Jones is the author of a work of
fiction due out this fall. In addition,
Jones is the mother of two daughters Olivia (4) and
Sophie (2). She is a speaker of English, French and
Italian. She enjoys downhill skiing, pilates and splits
her time between Vermont and New York City.

BENJAMIN SILLIMAN JONES
Benjamin Silliman Jones is Senior Vice President of Village
Ventures, Inc. (VVI), which manages a proprietary nationwide
network of early-stage venture capital funds focused on
emerging technology centers. Launched in the spring of
2000, VVI is backed with commitments of over $100 million
from lead investors Bain Capital, Highland Capital Partners,
Sandler Capital Management, and Janus Capital Corporation.
To date, the group has opened 10 funds, circled over $150
million in local capital, and have an interest in 16 early-stage
companies.
Jones leads VVI Services, which provides infrastructure
and professional services to the national fund network,
including corporate partnerships, marketing, public
relations, recruiting and technology. Prior to joining
VVI, Jones served as a Vice President at AGENCY.COM,
a leading Internet marketing and communications firm
within the Omnicom Group, where he headed a 40-person
team responsible for more than $10 million of annual
revenue. His clients included Hewlett-Packard, Texaco,
The Financial Times, and Goldman Sachs.
Jones graduated with a B.A. from Yale University in
1991 and was a recipient of National Endowment for the
Humanities fellowship in 1994.

WILLIAM LIPSCHUTZ
William Lipschutz is the owner and principal of Hathersage Capital Management LLC, a U.S. based Asset Management firm and Hedge Fund Advisor. Hathersage invests in the global foreign exchange markets, seeking value in the relationship between various currency pairs throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
Mr. Lipschutz was at one time a Managing Director of Salomon Brothers Inc., where he was Global Head of Foreign Exchange. He was the principal trader for Salomon Brothers’ proprietary foreign exchange account from 1984 until he left in June 1990. From 1986 until 1992, Bill served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, as well as vice chairman of the Foreign Exchange Committee of that Exchange.
Mr. Lipschutz received a B.Arch. in Architectural Design from Cornell University and a M.B.A. in Finance from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University.
Mr. Lipschutz is featured in The New Market Wizards: Conversations with America’s Top Traders, by Jack D. Schwager, 1992.

C. KIM MCCARTHY
C. Kim McCarthy is an attorney and producer who recently moved to New York City from Washington , D.C. She was formerly Vice President, Compliance and Government Relations for Quest Diagnostics, Incorporated, the nation’s leading clinical diagnostic laboratory company. She is a graduate of The George Washington University and George Mason University School of Law. Ms. McCarthy founded Pack of Two Productions in 2001. New York credits include Jane Eyre The Musical on Broadway and the upcoming Reno: Rebel Without a Pause. She is currently developing Antonya Nelson’s novel Nobody’s Girl for the screen.

J DAKOTA POWELL
As Head of Entertainment for KPE UK, the European operation
of an American new media firm, Powell was responsible
for developing, producing and merchandising digital
content across multiple platforms-Internet, wireless
devices and enhanced television. Her work has been profiled
in The Future of Digital Entertainment, Time Magazine
Europe, and in Creative Business, Financial Times. Prior
to KPE, Powell was Director of Business Strategy for
Arc e:Consultancy (NYC) where she wrote business plans,
Internet and investor strategies for a wide range of
companies, including: Citigroup, Pegasus Investors,
and Harper Collins.In the realm of theatre, Powell’s plays include: BLISS
MOON, THE IMPOSTOR, SAVAGE LIGHT, BLACKWATER, HARRY
BLACK. HARRY BLACK was produced in the Ensemble Studio
Theatre’s New Work Series. BLACKWATER was selected for
the National Playwrights Conference, O’Neill Theatre
Center and the Lincoln Center Reading Series. THE IMPOSTOR
starred Calista Flockhart and Austin Pendleton and was twice nominated for the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.
Powell has been produced by the Bay Area Playwrights
Festival, the Philadephia Theater Company's New Works
Series, Circle Repertory Theatre, the Ensemble Studio
Theatre, and Duke University’s New Works Series; in
addition, she has been commissioned by South Coast Repertory
Theatre, Talking Wall Pictures, and PBS Great Performances.
Her screenplay, Triggers, is the winner of the Writer
Guild of America screenwriting fellowship.
Powell graduated cum laude from Yale University and completed her masters at the Interactive Telecommunications Program, New York University.

JAMES D. STERN
Jim Stern has had a varied career in theater and film. He is currently co-producing Mel Brooks’ sensational Tony Award winning show, The Producers. Among Jim’s other Broadway and Off-Broadway productions are the runaway hit Stomp; The Diary of Anne Frank, starring Natalie Portman; Anna Deveare Smith’s Twilight: Los Angeles 1992; Lanford Wilson’s Redwood Curtain, starring Jeff Daniels; The Weir; Alan Ayckbourn’s thriller Communicating Doors; Bunny Bunny; The Sound of Music; Swing; and Wild Men, starring George Wendt. On the film side, Stern directed and produced the darkly comic psychological thriller It’s the Rage, starring Joan Allen, Jeff Daniels, Anna Paquin, David Schwimmer & Gary Sinise and the IMAX hit film, Michael Jordan to the Max. Currently Stern is producing the IMAX film, Pulse: A Stomp Odyssey, inspired by Stomp.

PAUL ZWILLENBERG
As CEO of <kpe> Europe, Paul Zwillenberg, guides
some of the biggest names in the media, entertainment,
technology and telecommunications industries in the
development and execution of the business strategies.
While at <kpe>, Zwillenberg was honoured by TIME
Magazine as 2000 as one of the "Digital Europe
25", the most influential people on the European
technology scene.
Prior
to joining <kpe>, Zwillenberg was the founder
and Managing Director of Associated New Media (ANM),
the electronic publishing division of Daily Mail and
General Trust (DMGT). During Zwillenberg's tenure, built
ANM it into the UK's fourth largest destination in the
UK.
Previously,
Zwillenberg held a number of strategic positions in
the telecom and computing industries. He was Vice President
and Global Marketing Director for Digital Equipment
Corp while at DDB Worldwide where he set-up a marketing
support network in 57 countries. He began his career
working on advanced telecommunications technologies,
email, e-commerce, wireless and interactive television
for Sprint, AT&T and Bell Atlantic. While at university,
he founded an early interactive information services
company which developed programming for USA Today and
Coors.
Often
turned to as an authority on the European media marketplace,
he has also been quoted in The Economist, The Financial
Times and The Guardian and is/was a contributor to the
Financial Times and The Industry Standard.
Zwillenberg
earned his BA in History with distinction from Duke
University and a certificate from the University of
Glasgow Business School. He is a supporter of Duke University's
Perkins Library.
